This website has been conceptualized and developed by Rajib Sarma, as a part of  the vision, mission and objective of Foundation for History and Heritage Studies established by him in 2007 as a non-profit organization that promotes aspects related to the vision, mission and objective of the organization on the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills and sacred, religious and historically important sites of erstwhile Kamarupa, as well  of the North-East India.

The Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills in Assam is one of the world’s most important sites of goddess worship. As a pilgrimage center for Hindus, Buddhists and practitioners of various streams of Tantrism for well over a thousand years, it has developed a uniquely syncretic religious culture. Millions of devotees from all over the world visit the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex every year. Apart from the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills, there are several sacred, religious and historically important sites are located in erstwhile Kamarupa, as well as in the North-East India, which are also significant from the point of view of the vision, mission and objectives of Foundation for History and Heritage Studies. Hence, this website intends to provide detailed information and resources on the above as per the vision, mission and objectives of Foundation for History and Heritage Studies

Since very limited information and resources are available about these above mentioned sacred, religious and important historical sites, the vision and mission of the organization is to provide as much diligently researched, historically accurate, reliable, and authentic information as possible to the general public, as well as provide support for a variety of visitors, such as pilgrims, general tourists, students, scholars and researchers.

The primary objectives of the website are:

  • Promote the vision, mission and objectives of Foundation for History and Heritage Studies.
  • To generate positive awareness as per the vision, mission and objectives of the organization on the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills and the sacred, religious and important historical sites of erstwhile Kamarupa as well as of the North-East India.
  • To make information and resources easily accessible to people around the world as per the vision, mission and objectives of the organization.
  • To provide the best possible guidance and assistance to people visiting the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills as well as the sacred, religious and important historical sites of erstwhile Kamarupa and North-East India.
  • To initiate a movement and awareness campaign to conserve, preserve, enhance and safeguard the unique religious, spiritual, esoteric, social and ethnographic traditions of the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills as well as the sacred, religious and important historical sites of erstwhile Kamarupa and the North-East India.
  • To initiate a movement and awareness campaign towards conservation, preservation, protection of the ancient monuments, structures, artifacts, sculptures, inscriptions, scriptures, etc. of the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills as well as of the sacred, religious and important historical sites of erstwhile Kamarupa and North-East India.
  • To develop a network for information sharing and exchange, as well as collaborative research projects as per the vision, mission and objective of the organization on the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills as well as on the various sacred, religious and important historical sites of erstwhile Kamarupa and North-East India.
  • To undertake projects as per the vision, mission and objective of the organization on the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills as well as on the sacred, religious and important historical sites of erstwhile Kamarupa and North-East India.
  • To ensure the high stature and shining renown of the name, glory, and the unique religious, ritualistic, social and cultural traditions of the Kamakhya Temples’ Complex (or Kamakhya Group of Temples) located on the Nilachala Hills.
